چکیده

Phycocyanin (PC) is a bioactive compound that can function as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and anti-cancer agent. It act potential material in preventing COVID-19 curing those suffering from it. Spirulina platensis (SP) one of the microalgae rich proteins PC. This study aimed to determine optimum PC extraction SP, using distilled water solvent through freezing-thawing pre-treatment. The variables set investigation were content SP before freezing (24.7-84.9 % wet basis), soaking time (0.25, 1, 2, 6 hours), raw materials’ storage period (1-13 months), (1-141 days), (solvent/biomass) ratio (20-440 mL/g). powder was soaked, frozen, thawed, extracted batch operation. residue with same solvent. concentration filtrate determined by measuring its absorbance spectrophotometer at wavelengths 615 652 nm. experiment gave yield 81.9% (wet hours, 1 day, solvent-to-biomass 100 mL/g. month. phycocyanin IC50 value 1.485 mg/L.

C-PHYCOCYANIN EXTRACTION FROM Spirulina platensis WET BIOMASS

C-Phycocyanin is a natural blue dye used in food and pharmaceutical industry. In the present study, a simple and efficient method to extract C-phycocyanin from Spirulina platensis wet biomass is reported. The extractions were carried out using six different methods, including chemical (organic and inorganic acid treatment), physical (freezing and thawing, sonication, homogenization) and enzymat...

Enhancement of biomass and phycocyanin content of Spirulina platensis.

Response surface methodology (RSM) based on the 23 factorial central composite design (CCD) was employed to evaluate optimum culture conditions (temperature, light irradiance and agitation) to enhance biomass and phycocyanin content of Spirulina platensis. The predicted maximum biomass and phycocyanin content by RSM was 1.06 g L-1 and 107 mg L-1, respectively, whereas maximum biomass and phycoc...

Optimization,Purification and characterization of Phycocyanin from Spirulina platensis

A method for stably purifying a functional dye, phycocyanin from Spirulina platensis was developed by freezing and thawing method. Among various buffers used for phycocyanin yield efficiency sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7 and 0.1 M) was found to be most suitable for highest yield. During comparison of various buffers, sodium phosphate buffer was found as best buffer with 146 ±0.265 mg/g phycobil...

Conformational Studies on C-Phycocyanin from Spirulina platensis

Bile Pigments, Protein Interaction, Conformation, Denaturation The chromophore-protein interactions of C-phycocyanin (C-PC) from Spirulina platensis have been studied by following the partial and complete denaturation with UV-Vis spectroscopy. From comparison with published MO calculations, an elongated conformation of the chromophore is sug gested for native C-PC, a cyclic one for denatured C...

Stable Isolation of Phycocyanin from Spirulina platensis Associated with High-Pressure Extraction Process

A method for stably purifying a functional dye, phycocyanin from Spirulina platensis was developed by a hexane extraction process combined with high pressure. This was necessary because this dye is known to be very unstable during normal extraction processes. The purification yield of this method was estimated as 10.2%, whose value is 3%-5% higher than is the case from another conventional sep...
